Credit profile unfairly affected

On Friday 6 Sep I received a call from Nedbank Card Collections stating that I had made a short payment on my card in August. I rectified this straight away but I am furious about the fact that I was told this would reflect on my credit record as a short payment.
The reason for me being so upset about this is that I have had this card for several years and I have NEVER been in arrears. I was recently moved off debit order as I requested a date change as I changed jobs and I was told that the debit order would not be moved in time and that it had to be changed to cash.
I did not receive a statement - apparently because Nedbank still had my old email address but my cell number has been the same for years. I feel that I could've received at least a sms advising me of the short payment before my account went to Collections and my credit record was affected. I am disgusted by this level of poor communication and the impact this could have on my credit record. I sent through a complaint on Friday and still no one has botehred to contact me. I have been a Nedbank customer for years but this will motivate me to move my account and my credit card.
