I have a loan with Nedbank of which they debit my account R2550.00 every month. In April this year i phoned them & advised them that i will be going on Maternity Leave & it is unpaid. Therefore they will not be getting any monies until i am back at work in August, they have advised me that my account will go into arrears & i said its fine because there is nothing i can do about it, but i will pay extra when i am back at work, suprisingly when i got paid in August, i found out that they had debited my account twice, whereas i have advised them that they must debit normal instalment & i will pay extra to cover the arrears, when i went to the branch in Port Shepstone, i was put on the phone to speak to a consultant who told me that he is requesting a refund & i must check after 48 hours, when i checked the money was not reversed, when i called again i was told that my account is in arrears & therefore will not get my money back, i feel that is unfair because i have advised them prior to going on Maternity leave that i will start paing again in August (to me that is making payment arrangement) i need that money reversed.
