Attitude towards pensioners

So the FNB ATM at Boskruin Centre swallowed my RETIRED parents bank card today! My mother was there drawing money from the little bit of cash my brothers deposit to help them with their one government pension, she straight away phoned the number given on the ATM, the card was stopped and she was told to go to her nearest branch to collect a new card! When she got there she had to fill in a form and was told that it may take up to 6 weeks to get a new card so the can investigate if its some kind of!!! I understand the need for this @ times but on R3000, my mom explained to the lady @ the FNB randridge that she didn't even have the money to get. Out of the parking and was basically told its not their problem!!! Now don't get me wrong, I love FNB but I think 6 weeks is unacceptable, how do they live? Are they meant to starve?? I am SERIOUSLY upset right now!! How can FNB do this, its not my folks fault the machine took their card!! Why can't the bank sort it out then and not tell them to phone back friday and maybe they can sort it out?? What do they do for the next 2 days and possibly 6 weeks??
