I submitted a check for $11K. The cheque was meant to be sent to Australia. I received a letter from the institution that issued the check to notify my that the cheque would be cancelled as it had not been cashed. I checked with FNB fish hoek and after 2 months they had not even sent it yet. It was still sitting with them.
I told them I needed an email that day in order for the cheque not to be cancelled - I was assured I would have it. I did not receive the email - the cheque has been cancelled and I have been waiting over 3 months. I have lost interest not to mention that I will have to go through this entire procedure again and still do not have the money that I need.
I am beyond furious with the incompetent staff. I have lost thousands of rand in wasted time and interest in dealing with an inefficient bank, not to mention the ridiculous waiting times in the branch.
I have made numerous complaints with the branch and they do not get back to me. I would like to make a formal complaint and would like to know exactly how you at FNB are going to go about rectifying this!
