Don't bother applying for FNB's Payal Service

For the past two weeks I have been trying to submit an Application for the FNB Paypal service online. FNB is the only bank offering this service and if you use Paypal, I believe this is the only channel available to get your money into South Africa. I am from another bank so I am forced to apply for this service as I have no other choice.

Every time I try to submit my application online it fails with errors. Invalid cellphone code. The field is not even on the form! Worst of all the form takes about 10 minutes to complete. I tried different browsers, different PCs.

I have been passed so many times from the Paypal Support centre (at FNB) and the Online banking support centre, I can't even remember. None of them had a clue. During my last support call, while on hold for the umpteenth time, I decided to go to the branch. Even they couldn't assist.

So I sent an email to FNB as a last resort begging for service. This was last week Thursday. On Monday I received an email stating my request was handed to the Paypal support centre (at FNB). It is now Thursday, a week later. I am still waiting.

I cannot recall when last I have been so frustrated with a supplier in South Africa.
