The Paypal system is supposed to be an easy way to transfer funds. Some money was sent to me, I set up my Paypal account in minutes. Now onto FNB, it reads on the paypal website "set up an online account with FNB even if you do not bank with FNB." Easy it sounds, Easy it wasn't - after 2 visits to FNB branches, countless hours to both Paypal and FNB's call centres with lots of frustration thrown in. I am online now - its not over yet -now I have to wait several days to actually get the money. During my expedition to set up the online banking, the online account was showing the wrong number for the OTP code. I bought this to the attention of the call centre who also explained to me that they were " Virtual" and in the same sentence informed me that I would have to go to a branch so that the branch could verify my details etc. - The very reason why they are Virtual is due to the fact that going to a bank's branch is inconvenient The person at the dept said that she could see my number on her system but was unable to inform call centre of this. Go Figure!! How can we help FNB understand that sometimes consumers also want convenience. For starters sort out your systems!!!
