My husband and I recently decided to change to a new bank account number within FNB as my card was illegally cloned and we battle to cancel certain debit orders (like ADT SECURITY since 20 May)
The solution was to close the old account and open a new one. I have a laptop obtained on special from FNB and with the change of bank account numbers requested from the department that gives out the smart devices to please change the debit order to the new account number. They flatly refuse to do so, I must pay the full amount outstanding! ITS STILL THE SAME BANK AND SAME TYPE OF ACCOUNT!! Why is it such an issue?
My husband was threatened with legal action if he did not pay, but we simply wish to change account NUMBERS!
