I have been a customer at standard bank for 3 years until i decided that i no longer want to use the bank because of the unwanted debit orders in my account by people i don't know.

to my knowledge when the bank is not in use for almost three months then they close the account... but i stopped using the account on JAN 2013 because i was tired of reversing the debit orders i knew nothing about, i decided to change banks. but when i went to standard bank recently to query the account i was told i owed R670 of bank charges and in order for me to close the account i must first pay the account, and on top of that the lady was very rude to me and couldn't wait to get out of my face.

how do the bank charges me even though i haven't use the account in months? and why didn't anybody call to ask about the account. how do they change my savings plan without my consent?

It is not fair that i pay these charges... this is a day light.
