I called Budget Insurance to request a motor vehicle quotation, where i spoke to Dikgang who later transferred me to his supervisor, Thabang/Thabiso who then promised that if i were to take the policy he would waiver the admin fee (this being a phony way of wooing customers). I clearly stated to them that my vehicle is still insured under Auto & General and I will contact them if i decide to take their policy. In a couple of days a guy who claimed to be a supervisor called, and I told him that i have decided to remain with Auto & General.
I was then surprised to see two transactions from Budget debited from my bank account. The 1st debited amount being R899.87 and the 2nd amount being R315. I called Budget, they gave me a refund ref no and thei sent them my bank statement. They sent me an sms that i will be refunded, but didn't divulge the amount.
To my surprise, Budget deposited R897.87, what happened to the rest of my money? Are insurance companies supposed to charge us when we request quotations? Am i going to forfeit R317 because their consultant wanted to make commission and thus was being untruthful? Please help
