First National Bank
This is taking advertising too far!

In it's latest SMS advertising campaign, FNB says: "We noticed that you are about to reach your credit card limit. Good news! You may qualify for a limit increase. Simply log into online banking to apply".

This is probably a generic SMS that you send out to everybody, regardless of their account status? Isn't FNB above cheap like these? I think you should apologise to everybody that is not nearing their account limit (such as myself)!

Second: When my financial institution informs me that I am nearing my limit when my account has a positive balance, it would be foolish not to suspect on my account. So I end up having to use my time and internet resources to sign into my accounts to confirm that everything is OK.

I tolerate FNB's SMS spam in case there is something that I do want to know about. But this type of promotion is crossing a line. What were you thinking!? Telling your clients they have almost no money left in their accounts? When you clearly didn't even check!?!? That's just incredibly unprofessional. Stupid stupid!!

Sies!!

If I get something like this again, I will opt out of all fnb advertising altogether. And I am sure I am not the only one...
