I have an Edgars account with a limit of R7500. I pay my account regularly and have an excellent payment history. I currently owe R9206 and in fact Edgars only encourage me to spend more as soon as my daily limit allows me too. Only recently it was bought to my attention that although I pay my account monthly I am in fact being negatively implicated on transunion by Edgars as they update my profile with "over my limit" status. Even though my payments reflect consistently as on time the credit providers frown on me as my status indicates I am over my limit??? A limit however that Edgars encourages me to go over? I was not aware of this arrangement and think it is devious and misleading to penalize me on ITC when technically I am only spending what you allow me to. If you set a credit limit then stick to it, if you wish to reward me for good payment history then increase it but then ensure you increase it on ITC at the same time. Whe requesting Edgars increase my limit in line with what I currently owe so that it reflects correctly on ITC they refused saying they could only increase it to R8000 however they allow me to spend up to R9206? Why am I being penalized for this on ITC?
