I was told I bought a Credit Life Protection policy and have been unknowingly paying these premiums for a few months. Now that I have discovered that this CLP is on my credit card account I requested immediate cancellation and refund of premiums already taken. ABSA says they have a voice recording from the 7th Feb 2013 in which I agreed to the purchase, but when I requested the voice recording so that I can hear it for myself I am told by ABSA they are not allowed to forward me this voice recording without a 'subpoena', but they can contact me to arrange for me to listen to the call??? If ABSA claims I have made this purchase, shouldn't they be able to forward me 'my voice recording' without a court order? I mean I have passed the security checks, they know I'm me. These banks with their bull schemes... and of course bank charges! Since April, Standard bank decided to change my pricing option more than once without informing me or asking permission... so up to date, I have been paying /-R120 a month on extra bank fees. After having been to the branch about this issue, it is still not corrected, and I need to run around to fix their errors! Time is money and I'm not on their payroll
