I opened a loan account with capitec last year and it was agreed that the payments would go off by debit order on the 25th of every month. This happened just fine last year until earlier this year when capitec starting withdrawing on the 24th. It was ok for the first few months because the 25th fell on a weekend and I was paid by then but then it kept going off on the 24th even when the 25th fll on a weekday. As a result the debit order bounced and my bank charged me penalties. I went to complain about this and they gave me the reason that it was because for the past few months the 25th fell on a weekend and they failed to change this. I explained the repercussions and they agreed to attend to this. However the debit order has continued to go off the day before pay day resulting in me being liable for penalties and my complaints are not addressed. I am deeply disappointed in this bank as I was considering opening a savings account with them but the lack of customer care is appalling!
