Credit Card called soft crime

Hello Peter,

I have a situation where my Company's Nedbank debit card got stuck in the ATM machine it was a set up and I was unaware of it. There was an amount of R2000-00 and then R500-00 drawn from the account. My wife called the bank to inform them that the card got stuck in the machine and the lady in the call centre told her that she could not match the card with our current account. This was absolutely ridicules it took her a while before she actually got to block the card. In the interim the had already gone and purchased from Puma in Braamfontein for R5700-00.

My wife and I then went to Nedbank Rosebank to report the case. One of the lady's at the information desk called the call centre to confirm that the card was blocked there seemed to be a lot of a confusion with linking the card to the account. It was then confirmed that the card was blocked. We were told to come to the branch or any other Nedbank branch to fill out forms with regards to the incident. My wife then went to the bank to fill out these forms. She was told that we will have to wait 4 to 6 weeks as that is the length of time it would take to investigate the case.
