Nedbank debit card cancelled without notification

I happen to operate all my banking accounts with Nedbank for the last 26 and a half years. Last week my wife who has full power of attorney on my cheque account used our nedcheque card to make purchases at a retail outlet only to be informed that the transaction is declined with reason debit card expired. She then called on the Brooklyn branch the next day to obtain a new card (with full power of attorney on my account) but was rudely turned away with answer that only the account holder can get a new card - Also note that at no point did Nedbank inform us that the card will expire nor does it appear anywhere on the card itself - i then reverted the matter to the Nedbank complaint line a Day later i received an e mail to mention that i must go to a branch to get the card, they can issue my wife with a card but they cannot encode it then - I just wonder what the purpose would be of an unencoded debit card then? - I refused this resolution but received an e mail today that the team leader cannot assist any further in the matter - An hour later a Florence phoned me to offer me a cheque account with Nedbank (after 26 years with themalready) - What a joke you are Nedbank!!
