Last week I phoned Wesbank to inform them that I couldn't honour my payment for June 2013 and I tried to negotiate a payment arrangement with them to no success.

The lady I spoke to informed me that at the end of July 2013 the instalment will be deducted twice, meaning that they are going to deduct R12 400 from my account at the end of July 2013. I can't afford that hence I phoned them and tried to negotiate a payment arrangement.

I don't know if the NCA requires this of consumers, but I will have to find out in order to understand the response I received from Wesbank Collections. A double deduction will leave me with nothing in my account.

I'm truly saddened by this because the situation I had come up against was an unforeseen situation and I tried to explain that to the lady I spoke to.

I was appealing to them hoping that they would understand and try to assist me with a payment arrangement.
