I took out a loan with Capitec in 2011. I requested my debit deductions to go off on the 25th of every month. I was told by the consultant that du to my bank statements showing that my salary sometimes gets paid in earlier they will have to deduct prior to the date. I questioned if I will be pay for rejected debit orders due to insufficient funds and she said no. However, 2 years later I changed my banking details and whilst doing so I see that my bank has been charging me for those insufficient funds! I contacted capitec customer helpline twice, they said i should go into the bank and send all my paperwork to the payments dept so that they can change my debit order dates. I went to Capitec in Greenacres-Port Elizabeth and the consdsultant told me on the system it already shows deductions off ofrom the 25th and they deduct 2days prior to that, they cannot help me in that regard. She did however help me by stating that she will send up my paperwork and get back to me in 24hrs.
I cannot believe that CAPITEC is making excuses to assist me with an error that is clearly theirs!!
