Going the extra mile

Having just started a new job, i had the experience of finding out, due to company policy that my previous company issues a final salary by means of a cheque. I only managed to obtain this cheque on the 28th of June, and under normal circumstances, a cheque takes 7 days to clear. Not wanting my debit orders to bounce while the cheque was being cleared i got hold of the premier banking division and explained my predicament.

To my relief, the consultant I dealt with, said she would phoned the branch where I deposited the cheque and get permission to clear it on special request. She promised to call me back within the hour to update me on her progress.By Friday afternoon, the cheque was cleared and I was given a call to inform me that the money was cleared and available. Well done to her, and thank you for going the extra mile.
