I'd like to use Mpesa to pay weekly wages. However, I found that I am limited to only R 1000 per day with no way of increasing the maximum amount. Nedbank referred me to the Vodacom call center who in turn referred me back to Nedbank. This time Nedbank enquiries claimed that the telephone numbers I used were invalid and not registered and that I must go back to Vodacom. Vodacom then confirmed both the validity of the numbers and that they were indeed registered and in turn referred me back to Nedbank. Today I was firstly referred to the teller?? then back again to Vodacom, this time claiming that I have to register my personal cell number. Following a telephone conversation with Vodacom in the presence of the Nedbank employee it was confirmed that registration was only applicable for recipients and would allow a max amount of R 5000 to be received. After waiting more than an hour I was told that, not only could they not help me, but also that there was nobody in the Nedbank group that could. What sense does it make to be able to receive R5000 if you can only pay R 1000? After 3 fruitless branch visits I will appreciate some remotely competent response.
