My car was a few weeks back so I am driving a borrowed vehicle. I applied for car finance through Standard Bank and was provisionally approved- THAT WAS OVER 2 WEEKS AGO and this week I am informed that my application has been declined, seeing that they refuse to phone my work number to confirm employment because it starts with 087. Despite informing them that it is NOT a cellphone and sending a stamped letter to confirm employment. So should I look for employment elsewhere; simply because I will not get a car if my work number doesn't start with 011? Do these people realise that I work for a registered company and that some of the BIGGEST companies in SA have numbers starting with 087? Telkom does not even cover the area I work in!
Think they need more logical reasons to decline a citizen who tries to do things the right way.
