FNB advertise how easy its to switch, A BUNCH OF .I applied on line to switch 22/05/2013, got a call, who advised he can only open a savings as i had a prev account and wud jus need to go to the branch with my married ID, proof of ad & marriage certificate and they wud upgrade me to a chq acc. Got an email 23th May welcoming me to FNB that i have a chq acc, went to the Melville branch assisted by Thuli who didnt seem like she wanted to help, gave the required docs, she tells me a wrong acc was opened by arthur and she cant upgrade, went to speak to the admin manager for 20mins, comes back to tell me she cant open any account for me as iam a risk 3 on the system. I apparently had a discovery credit card in 2005 and i owed R90, a letter of demand was sent out to me in 2006 to pay R111 so she cant help me, REALLY? NCA says an acc older than 5 years gets written off. FNB who claims to be this GREAT bank cant give one an acc coz i owe R90, BULLDUST.To add PRAISES to this GREAT bank, my husband gets debited R290 for a credit card he had in 2008 which was paid up no debits since 2008 but 1 today, the same branch had him holding for 30mins. HE HAS BEEN GIVEN 3 diff chq acc with FNB now this? BAD
