Impossible to Close a Diners Club account

I have been battling to close my account since 20 Aug 2012 and I keep getting invoices and debit orders going through my account.

After contacting the Diners Club number last year, they asked me to send a mail to [Email Removed] to close the account, but this didn't seem to help. When I received a statement and debit on my bank account in March, I contacted them once again to query why my account was never closed. This time they insisted that I send a mail to [Email Removed] to close the account, upon which I responded asking why it would work this time around, if it didn't work the first time. I insisted that they give me another person to escalate it to and was pointed in the direction of Ashton Maharaj.

This month, I again received a statement and it is exhausting to work with "faceless" emails where you don't actually know if the instruction will be executed.

I know that if I contact them again, we will just end up repeating the same steps. What else should I do that will actually work? How will I get the money back that has been deducted from my account?
