On Fri Apr 19th I was in a bumper bashing (rear ended in the rain).
I registered the claim Mon 22nd April, assessed it Wed 24th & Sat 27 was informed that the damages were under 3k, so the claim wasn't taken up.
I disputed the assessment as we could see that the bumper stiffener had crumpled & it wasn't simply a case of remove the bumper, respray and refit. I heard nothing back. I phoned twice and this was apparently escalated to the Assessment Manager
I gave up waiting for an assessment manager to respond & lodged a small scrapes & bumps (whatever it is) claim on Monday May 6th, took it to AutoMagic for assessment where that assessor actually got under the vehicle - the quote? Over 8K.
This claim was rejected as being too big for that policy.
Now I had 2 claims for the same thing with 2 values & both insurers rejecting the claim. I sent the AutoMagic quote back to Virgin for re-assessment and connected with an extremely helpful Claims Manager on Wed 8 May. She escalated that quote to the Assessment team. I now wait for the assessors!!! AGAIN!!
It is now almost 4 weeks. How is this Insurance the Way it is Meant to be?
Is the entire assessment team on leave?
