Passed around from dept to dept

I opened a new account which took 3 visits to the bank to activate (what was the point of applying online). I am still waiting for someone to tell me how i can get my employer to change my bank details for my salary. No one at the bank can help me with moving debit orders. What do i want this account for then?? So i gave up on this and thought i will just use this account for moneygram transactions... After wasting 5 full lunch breaks i still cannot find one person in any department that knows how to add a moneygram beneficiary.
I have been with my bank for 10 years and have never had such problems... It really seems like they are full of promises but cant actually deliver basic banking services like my own account number!!!
