I was a very loyal Kulula customer for many years (time to re-think this).
I made an online booking during the last flight special period (had to re-enter the site a few times, as it kept on timing out during the payment process). On the successful attempt, I accidentaly chose a later flight than the one I wanted (my mistake). I immediately called the call centre to change the flight to the earlier one (the passengers I booked for would be late for a wedding, if I did not change it).
I thought there might be a tiny or no fee to change this within 5 mins... complete daylight is that I am then charged a R342 booking fee on each of the two tickets (R684). I bought the original tickets on one transaction.
How on earth can a change of flights within 5 minutes of booking attract such an exorbitant fee. Where does this money go? Tried to make the flight changes on-line first, but would not allow the change.
Come on Kulula... you can do better than that. Very disappointed.
I think it is time to take this to the Consumer Council & Consumer Watch.
