On 2 Feb 2013 I bought two return tickets from JHB to DBN & was very pleased with the competitive pricing that Kulula had of R1684 in total for both passengers. A couple of days before my schudeled flight on 6 Feb'13 I had to put my tickets on hold in order to fly a later date.
I have subesquenty called Kulula back in order to change the flight dates & times & I am astounded regarding the charges applied when one needs to change a booking. I've been informed that it will cost R1 048 per passenger to change the flight details. In summary it cost me R1684 to get the two return tickets & R2 096 to change them. I understand that there are differences in airfares but airlines are blatantly ripping-off the customers when it comes to changes. It's a second experience I have with Kulula & the last ticket change was the same, the charge for changing was so high that it was cheaper to buy a new ticket.
Why can we not have a 10% or 20% forfeit of our original ticket price when we cancel a booking? Because it's clear that once you've booked that's money down the drain. You pay more than the ticket price for chages... Always!
There's got t be a better more equitable way.
