I book most of my flights with [URL Removed] and British Airways and am also a Discovery member linked to the ailines.
I am in Cape Town on business and wanted to change my return flight by extending it with a day. Whilst online, the website communicates that flight changes can not be done online, but only via their call centre.
I spoke to the agent and she then gave me the flight time options. I selected the preferred time and then an amount of more than R700 was quoted for fees to change the flight and the change in price. She then told me that I was booked on BA and I asked whether this was the most cost effective option and she then confirmed. I agreed and the booking was made. Right after that, I went online and there was a flight 35 minutes later for half the price on [URL Removed] I phoned them again and was told that the flight prices and availability changes by the second and that somebody might have cancelled right after I have spoken to the lady and then only the discounted flight became available. I do understand the travel business very well and what they have told me is correct, but the issue is that the agent did not provide me with the option of a cheaper flight. BAD!!
