My fiance and I needed to travel to CT to visit someone. We booked tickets via British Airways over the long weekend in September. These were the most exoensive domestic tickets I have ever bought, over R5, 000 each which is daylight! Despite this, it was neccessary to book them. When we got to the airport with over an hour to spare, we were told very nonchalantly that the flight has been overbooked and that there was no room for us, with barely an apology. After expressing our extreme dissatisfaction many times, we were eventually offered "compliemntary" vouchers to use on a flight of our choice. We have just decided to use them for our flight to Port Elizabeth for Christmas time. Looking online, the respective flight our of choice was oriced at R1, 500. When I called the call centre to book, I was told that I was unable to book that flight as it "was during Peak December time". Why on earth can I not use my voucher for YOU inconveniencing me on the most expnsive flight of the year, to use for a CHEAPER fligh? A flight that is more than 3 TIMES cheaper than what I actually paid for? This is extremely poor service British Airways. [Email Removed]
