Tuesday 26th March, my family and I were at Durban Airport to depart to Cape Town. We had 2 bags to checkin (already shrink wrapped) weighing 55kg. We only had two big bags, and 1 piece for hand luggage. Aviation policy states that a bag cannot weigh more than 32kg which Kulula acknowledged EXCEPT they charged me R250 PER BAG for excess luggage as their policy is one piece of luggage per person at 20kg. Nevermind that there were 3 of us and thus entitled to 60kg in total! The problem for Kulula is that it wasn't split between 3 bags! I was made to pay R500 for basically being UNDER weight! Ridiculous! How does Kulula expect mothers with 2 children to fly with 3 pieces of luggage!?!? *irritated
