I am most impressed with British Airways, however it took a lot of phoning around to get to the correct person!
Last Month two of us were travelling back to Cape Town from Heathrow with BA and when we arrived in Jhb our lugguage was missing.
After reporting this, we were told the suitcases would be located and delivered to us. Mine was delivered two days later with a broken lock and a whole lot of clothing items and my colleagues bag has yet to arrive.
The total value of our losses was R16000!
We phoned Jhb BA, the baggage claim staff were not very helpfull at Johannesburg airport, however Cape Town just referred us to BA. The BA procedure is to fill out an online form, which..by the way.. never accepted!! As hard as we tried to make it submit it would not. We then got hold of a BA call center lady in Johannesburg called Tendeka (very helpful) and helped us fill it out and submit it. Nothing happened for a couple of weeks so we phoned again, and were eventually put through to someone in the UK called David Hodgson who was very helpful. He spent ages getting all the facts together and today we were paid out R12000. Thank you BA Johannesburg call center and David in UK!
