We arrived at the BA/Comair counter. One suit case was a little bit over weight but the other 2 were way below the max weight .ie overall the total weight of the suitcases were fine.
So if one had some common sense you may come to the conclusion that between the 3 passengers (one a 3 year old) that the combined weight of the luggage was all ok. In fact it was less than the max.
Airlines will tell you that they need to calculate fuel and the planes weight needs to be correct ect. This is correct but this does not explain their policy.
Again if you apply some simple common sense a reasonable person would have said 3 people all travelling together can have x amount of luggage but not BA they insist you unpack one suitcase into another one and the great result of this is that you still fly with the same amount just that now one suitcase is lighter now and one heavier.
It makes no sense BA are happy that I pay "all together " but my luggage must be separate.
The lady at the counter asked her supervisor and the response I heard was "I am not interested" and that about sums up how I feel about BA? Comair...
