Good day.
After arriving at the O.R. Tambo airport this morning, my wife and my two children proceeded to check-in at a kulula counter. my wife and kids were flying to capetown and i was assisting them to check-in. She had 1 suitcase with her and my 2 childrens clothing in it. The case weighed 23, 1 kgs. we were then told that we are over weight and need to pay a fee of R250-00 for being 3.1 kgs over weight. I find this to be terribly unfair as there were 3 passengers who are allowed 1 case weighing 20 kgs each and because all 3 passengers belongings were condensed to 1 suitcase we were forced to pay R250-00. I feel that after complaining about this nobody at the main counter or the check-in counter was willing to listen to us. There was absolutely no response form either counters even after they could see that we were both very annoyed. I feel that an exception could have been made as the case was only 3.1 kgs over weight and it was three passengers luggage. I feel that we done Kulula a favor by condensing 3 passengers luggage in to 1 standard suitcase yet we get penilised for this and nobody will assist in trying to solve the issue at the airport. I will never fly kulula again!!
