I have flown on this airline more than 50 times in the last 3 years. Today I arrive to check in to fly home landing at Lanseria. At the check in at Cape Town international, they weigh my luggage... 23 kgs. She explains it is over weight, my wife is with me, her case is 16 kgs. Together they are under the limit for 2 passengers. We are told that she doesn't really care about that, they have to ALL be under the 20 kg limit. We have no hand luggage except my wife's handbag. No concession! She told us to unpack the heavy suitcase and remove just one item... Irrespective of the weight... We comply and remove an item of perhaps 500 grams, she allows it through without looking at the weight again... Even though it must still be well over the 20kg limit.
I will never fly again on kulula... Guaranteed.
