Ticket Change Ripoff

On 18 Sep 2013, I booked and paid in full for a return air ticket from Durban to Cape Town from 25 Oct, returning 30 Oct 2013. I since changed my mind and wanted to stay 1 extra day in Cape Town. It is still 2 weeks before I fly, and I hoped perhaps Kulula had a "1 change no charge" policy. I was sorely mistaken.

I tried to make the change to my booking online for convenience, but no, I had to call the Call Center. I did notice somewhere in the details of the online booking mentioning a R150 change fee, which I wasn't exactly happy about but thought it was acceptable. When speaking to Linda, the consultant, she informed me a change to the next day would cost me R342!! I said "What? Why's it so expensive? " She just made some excuse that the price I saw on the website was for something which I hadn't signed up for so it didn't apply to me. I paid the price, not happily though.

I just thought it's a big ripoff, if it was 24 hours before the flight I'd say fine. But with 2 weeks to go, and the fact that the flight wasn't full as I could still get on, just makes a person sick with how airlines literally rob people. I've voiced my opinion. Hopefully some changes happen in future!
