Flight delayed 3 hours. Flying a faulty plane

On January 1st 2013 I was on flight JE 705 from Lanseria Airport to Cape Town. I am a DJ and had a gig to perform at on the day. The plane was supposed to land at 19:25 and the gig was at 9pm, giving me ample time to get there. As we were about to take off the pilot told us there was something wrong with the plane, but assured us it was minor and would be fixed in 10 minutes. They then changed the story and said there was no one to fix it and we had to fly the faulty plane to OR Tambo and get it fixed there. After a bumpy landing at OR Tambo, they were unable to fix the plane and we eventually got on another plane. This commotion took - 3 hours. We landed in Cape Town, needless to say, I missed my gig. This made me seem extremely unprofessional and unreliable to the promoters that had booked me, especially because I wasn't able to deliver a service they had already paid me for. Mango offered us R250 vouchers to apologize for the inconvenience. I did not use mine and it has since expired. I have resolved my issues with the promoters, but I feel like R250 doesn't equal the amount of embarrassment and hassle I went through and I hope they will find a better way to make it up to me.
