As SAA are the only carriers flying between Cape Town and East London their prices have become exorbitant as any passenger between these destinations will agree. But that's not what I'm writing this about. We boarded our flight SA1375 to ELS and entered a freezing plane. Still no problem, this is to be expected when flying. We take off and from row 6 on the express (clearly dated) plane our ears begin to hurt from the buzz of the propellers, making everyone uncomfortable but still- this is not the complaint. Once we are in the air for about 30 minutes the entire cabin begins to heat up, I mean REALLY heat up. Everyone checks their aircons to notice only hot air escaping. After 20 more minutes the inside of the aircraft has reached 37 degrees and claustrophobic passengers are panicking. We are offered no explanation as the remaining 40 minutes of our horrific experience stuck inside turns from bad to worse. During this time NO intercom apology is given nor an explanation. When we finally landed no apology was given once again. Turns out the crew forgot to open the air vents. The entire ordeal was unprofessionally handled and resulted in the most horrible flight I have even been on
