I was returning to Jhb from Cpt last Sunday evening. After boarding the 18:00 flight - SA362 we were told to disembark due to technical issues. After waiting in a queue and having other passengers assisted before me that were actually behind me in the queue, I was moved to the 19:00 flight - SA366.
Upon boarding I was told by the flight attendant that my hand luggage would need to be placed in the hold as the overhead lockers were full. I only travel with hand luggage for safety reasons.
When I retrieved my bad at the baggage reclaim, I noticed that it had been tampered with. I opened my bag to find that my Garmin GPS had been. This could only have been by one of the baggage handlers working between the plane and the terminal.
I approached the baggage services desk and was told in an extremely rude manner that I can complain as much as I like but I will not be reimbursed. I would like to be financially compensated for this, rude conduct and inconvenience of arriving home over 2 hours late.
