My daughter boarded an SAA flight from Washington to OR Tambo on route to Durban on 15 March 2013. Three of her bags were already booked into cargo at San Diego. When she boarded her flight at Washington, her hand luggage bag containing valuables including her laptop was taken from her by the SAA attendant, to be handed to her when she exited the plane at OR Tambo. Upon arrival the hand luggage bag was missing and nobody knew what happened to it. She then determined from SAA at OR Tambo that all 4 bags were going directly to Durban (without checking through customs). Only 3 bags arrived in Durban with her flight- the 4th hand luggage bag was missing and determined to be at Customs. It was sent to Durban the next day minus her laptop and other personals. SAA Customer Services. Baggage Services and their Investigations Department couldn't't care less and in 2 weeks have failed to provide me with any feedback at all, apart from they are investigating the matter. Appalling and unacceptable service.
