Hand luggage not allowed due to no name tag

I was a passenger on board flight MN641 from OR Tambo to King Shaka on 11 July 2013 departing at 18:10.

At 17:55 whilst waiting to board the plane at the boarding gate I was approached by one of your employees named Mike and was told that I would not be able to board the plane as my hand luggage had no baggage tag on it. I was told to then go all the way back to the check in counter to give in my bags before returning to the gate.

At no stage during the purchase of my ticket or my check in online was it brought to my attention that my hand luggage needed a tag. My boarding pass was checked by a female employee before the gentleman Mike approached me but I was not told by the lady that there would be an issue with my bags.

I had valuable items such as my IPad in my bag and therefore needed to have it on my person but was forced to check my bag in at a huge inconvenience to me and at the risk of the flight departing without me on board and my IPad being out of my bags. At the baggage claim in Durban the zips of my bag where opened.

Please direct me to where this baggage tag policy is on your website and at the airport.
