Promotional Data Bundles -?

I bought the required R499 airtime and activated the 20gb promotional data on a prepaid simcard on the 24th of April. I did not receive a notification that the data bundle had been activated.

Nevertheless on the morning of the 25th I plugged in the modem and the internet worked. I tried checking for the data balance on the myvodacom website and the broadband program and it showed that I did not have data. I chatted with an online representatve and the query was escalated. I did not hear from Vodacom again after this.

Now on the 26th I am unable to access the internet because the data bundle has supposedly been depleted. I again contacted vodacom about this and was after a show and dance told that their records indicate that the data has been used up.

So in the span of 30 hours including sleeping time, my modem magically used up all of my data. Keeping in mind that this is a usb modem attached to a computer that is tuned off in the evenings, I feel that someone is lying to me.

To use up 20gigs of data in 24 hours I would have to continuously download at 14mbs a minute nonstop. How can this be possible? I lose R500 and Vodacom just stands back and say "not our problem".
