18.04 Signed new contract with Cell C East Rand [email protected] 16h30
19.04 Collected new I Phone5 @ approx 5pm
20.04 Took phone back to Cell C ERM as the phone would not charge.Leslie-Ann tried a few times then got it to charge for /-1min.She said to take it home&try &if it does not work, I should bring it back within3days.
21.04 It did not charge&was now flat, so I went through to the apple store in East Gate who tested the phone&advised me that it was an"out of box"failure & to go back to Cell C, must give me a new phone immediately.I returned to Cell C ERM &spoke to Leslie-Ann again who insisted that I hand my phone in&they would send it in which would take7-10 days&if approved, they would give me a new phone.I was most unhappy about this, but had no alternative to hand it in.When I got home, I immediately phoned Cell C customer services&explained my concern&asked if I am able to cancel my contract as it is within the7days thereby not getting the same phone back&she said yes, but to phone Monday morn. I then phoned Leslie-Ann &she said that if I cancel, Cell C wouln't give me a new contract. This is not within Consumer Protection Act?!
