Problem with account qualification

First off I would like to commend Cell C on excellent service. The person who attended to me was helpful, friendly and tried to help me in the best way she could.

However, I went to Cell C today to open a contract for R399 on one of the smartphone deals. I provided all the necessary documentation and after all my information was processed, the system allowed me a contract to the limit of R75pm. My gross monthly income surpasses R10k and I've personally checked all the credit bureau's reports for any discrepancies and found none.

I've calculated that Cell C is willing to provide me with 0.007% credit on my monthly income. I really don't understand this - there were no issues with my personal details whatsoever.

I fail to grasp how I'm not eligible with a gross monthly income over 10K. I have a healthy balance in my bank account and I've been with my employer for over 2 years.

I know that controls have been set in place to counteract bad debts and - but Cell C will lose a valuable customer (who was going to buy copious amounts of data) over the inability to customers individually.

I truly hope I can get some sort of clarity on this.
