I took out a cellphone contract with cell c in January - subsequently my handset was. I noticed through my Google Play account the person in possession of my phone inserted a cell c sim. So my query here and what I need clarity on is :
since I have a running contract with cell c, in the event that my cellphone is - as is currently -and the individual uses my handset on the cell c network why will cell c not divulge the necessary information to trace my handset. I called customer care but they informed me they do not have the access to do so. Since phones are registered on the networks via the IMEI which allows for any data settings etc to be pushed down to the phone by the provider, my understanding is that cell c would know exactly which cell c sim is connected to my handset including whom and other info relevant to my case.. I do not understand the refusal to divulge this info, even due to privacy laws as my contract with cell c specifies ownership of the handset. I thus feel cell c couldshould be more accomodating in tracing my phone instead of the careless attitude I have experienced with regards to this so far since they still get their money monthly.
