In Dec I was due for an upgrade I went into the Canal walk store. I told the Consultant Roxanne that I wanted to upgrade my phone on my existing Talk 240 contract & wanted a blackberry & that I didn't want to pay anything more on my current contract. There was a deal for the 9790 with a bluetooth headset. She would have had to open my existing account and could see what I was currently paying.
More than once I double checked with her that I would not be paying more on the upgrade than I currently was. She told me no, I wouldn't be.
As A customer I do not walk around with my statement with & have not memorised every item on my bill & the amount thereof.
I signed the contract. At no time did she point out that the new amount of R459 was more than my current amount of R430.
In February I noticed an additional charge of R29 for a Handset installment. I requested a copy of the contract I signed (I was not given nor offered one in store). It took 4 phonecalls and 5 weeks for me to obtain this.
On closer inspection the contract states that I am paying for the headset. According to James & mark I am not.
But I am being held liable for a consultant not listening to a client!!!
