My husband who has a ph on one of my contracts was due for an upgrade. He specifically asked what ph he could upgrade to given his existing contract - top up 590. His existing ph was a bberry with bis. He was shown a no. of phones &we were adamant that we need to stick to the existing budget without paying anything extra. The consultant showed us a new ph & advised us that we could infact get this ph for a lesser amnt of top-up of 530.We thought this was a great deal and signed-up. To our dismay, the very next day whilst he was still setting up the phone, he realised that the ph was not working. On phoning Vodacom he was told that all his airtime was finished IN ONE DAY!!! The consultant did not tell us that you even pay for the "whats app service" with the new ph - so clearly that is not what we wanted- we specifically wanted to stay within our existing spend. The Monday morning he immediately went back to VodaWorld and explained the above - they wanted nothing to do with his plight. My million dollar question is ' what about the 7 day cooling period??? let alone the Consumer protection Act, which clearly states a 14 DAY Cooling off period. Does Vodacom think they above the law???
