I was due to upgrade Oct 2012. On visiting the Vodacom branch, Greenstone (next to Mugg&Bean) I very specifically told the salesman I need a simple phone, don't do Internet, banking or Facebook. He recommended a Lumia 610. I know no better and accepted his advice. My contract however, only covers talk time and sms bundles, NO DATA.
Salesperson did not advice that I need data either.
Since January this year my phone bill has been escalating out of control. Forward and back to the Vodashop and only end February I was told it is a Smart phone and as I don't have data on my contract. I am using out of bundle data!! Why was I given a smart phone?? Why was I not informed that I needed Data??
I was furious, I was mislead by salesperson, and not informed correctly when I received the phone. But don't think Vodacom will make it right. No, no, no, no way I can get rid of this phone or our of this contract. The only help Vodacom can offer, buy a data bundle!!
Vodacom customer care, wasn't much help either. After not responding to my call for days, the best they are willing to do, is give me 500 MG free.
I am done with Vodacom, after being a loyal client for 9 years!
