Why must it be so difficult you pay you?

This months debit order didnt go off for my contract. I noticed a day later that the payment didnt go through so I contacted Vodacom to change my debit order date and get them to redebit me. Apparently you have to apply for vodacom to consider taking your money but the call centre lady was helpful and stated that I can pay at any bank or vodacom store.

Today I go to all the vodacom stores in alberton city mall and they all tell me that I cant pay by them. I have to go to a bank. Why must I fight with vodacom to take my money? Why is this whole process so inefficient and incompetant?
