I want to sign up for a Vodacom MyGig 2 Standard contract at R99 per month. The sales person asked me whether I have any existing contracts with Vodacom. I explained that I have signed up for a Vodacom voice contract, but it has not yet started because they are waiting to receive stock of the phone.
The sales person then informed me that I cannot sign up for the contract while I have another (new) contract pending. Furthermore I am not even allowed to even sign up for this data contract for another 3 months after I started my voice contract, because they want to first see if I am fulfilling my payments for those 3 months. The promotion on the MyGig 2 Standard contract ends 6 April so I cannot wait much longer, let alone 3 months!
I understand that there are policies and procedures to ensure that you are not a risk for signing up for a contract, but then Vodacom can ask for 3 months bank statements and check my credit history. If this was for a new voice contract, then I could understand, but why should I have to wait 3 months for such a low risk R99 per month contract?
This does not make sense. It makes me wonder whether Vodacom is worth my loyalty and my hard earned money...
