My Data Missing after bought

Hi, I bought a sim micro sim sometime late last year from Vodacom Shop, Vodaworld Midrand. I never RICAd the sim and didn't use it, today 27 March 2013 I bought R380 worth MyMeg 1.5Gig data from FNB directly into the SIM card number 0794604328 (which was allocated at the time). The funds we deducted as well as R29 airtime to the same number.
Upon arrival home, I inserted the sim into my iPad with excitement to start using my device, and it said "No Service"
I called Vodacom 114, only to be told if I don't use the number within 270 something days it gets deleted. Which is policy I was not aware of when obviously buying the data and airtime today.
So now I have been unlawfully deducted off my money to buy a service I cannot receive due to the lack of knowledge and non-information regarding the 270 days cell umber cancellation if no use.

I want to be refunded by this Service Provider the money, and the call center agent couldn't help.
