Our employer entered into a contract with MTN. In October 2012 when MTN was distributing the new cellphones in the department, MTN made a provision for employees to select any available cellphone on the list that was provided to our employer by MTN. Based on this above information, we therefore made a selection for Nokia Lumia 900s and this cellphone had an upfront payment of R 879.00. MTN requested us to deposit R 879.00 into their standard bank account before we can receive the handsets. After numerous follow ups on the Nokia Lumia 900s, it was obvious that there are no Nokia Lumia 900s available at all. An appeal of the refund of R 879.00 was submitted to our employer and was forwarded to MTN in January 2013. MTN made a commitment of a 7 days refund turnaround time. Up to date no refunds has been made by MTN to us and its 6 months long now. This is really worrying.
